Research & Development
NAOS is engaged in several different research program. Most of those are classified as “internal” projects, related to scientific research work in the field of Hydrodynamic, Ship Stability, and Mechanics.
Some are related to process innovation; for instance, implementation of new methods involving the usage of software, often linked one to the other.
A constant improvement in performances of our hull forms is made through continuous testing of parametric variation of the same, exploring new feature like winglets and air lubrication. Systematic data collection from sea trials, model basin tests and CFD is made to populate own production software for the analysis and confrontation with other hull series.
In some case, research is aimed at product development, like the “WEPAS” project, co-financed from the regional government.
