Fondata nel 1993, NAOS Ship and Boat design è una società specializzata nella progettazione navale. Ha iniziato la sua attività divenendo lo studio di progettazione di riferimento per il Cantiere Navale Visentini, il più grande costruttore navale privato italiano. Negli anni successivi ha espanso la sua attività aumentando il portafoglio clienti.


ShipLoad is an on-board computer system for analysis of ship loading conditions. Main hydrostatic parameters (displacement, drafts, trim and heeling, metacentric height) are evaluated at any new load definition from the user: stability and longitudinal strength are calculated and compared with admissible limits according to safety criteria in order to check the suitability of the loading operations.

The computer system is complying with the requirements from Classification Societies relative to cargo ships (bulk-carrier, container, tanker, etc.) and passenger vessels: furthermore, it is accepted in substitution of Loading Manual for ro-ro ships.

ShipLoad runs on PC under MS Windows environment.

The computer procedure is characterised by a graphical interface enabling a user-friendly input of data: graphical windows, depending on the typology of load, are called by the user by means of mouse or keyboard. Tanks for different fluids or solid cargoes on the decks can be easily defined through their main parameters and at once displayed on longitudinal or deck profiles in order to directly check the correctness of the input data.

The main results are directly displayed on the video, while a complete report relative to the defined loading condition is available and can be printed for paper filing or harbour documentation. Filing on magnetic supports is also available, enabling a quick access to predefined loading conditions and their possible alteration or updating.

Diagrams of main stability and strength parameters (shear force and bending moment) can be displayed and aligned with ship profile in order to allow a effective underlining of the most stressed sections along the ship.

ShipLoad represents an useful tool not only for crew staff during the loading operations, but also for Owner technical staff for fleet management. In addition, ShipLoad addresses Shipyards for installation on board of new ships.
